Season Of Love

February is my favourite month. Roses, chocolates, bouquets, cards, cakes excite me less. Women love clothes. So this month I have added a new resort wear and evening wear collection to the newly launched multi-designer store named COMO that is situated at Campal, Panjim, Goa. The store is owned by the people behind the best fashion week in Goa...India Beach Fashion Week A designers collective. So all those in Goa...BeCOMO #white #cotton #cottonmulmul #mulmul #long #dresses #kaftan #drape #gowns by #Kp #KimPereira

Weddings are meant to give a fairytale feeling

Be it any culture or country, every girl dreams of her wedding day to be like a fairytale. When brides come to me to get their bridal gown or lehenga designed by me, I first ask them this - "what do you see yourself wearing on your wedding day?" It is their special day, their dream and hence I love to take their inputs to create their fairytale gown. Like this one in my video. She was one awesome bride. She exactly knew what she wanted and it made things so easy and simpler. The outcome was beautiful. And I was left free to design the bridesmaid dresses as per my choice. That is where I used my Kp digital print fabrics and dyed a few meters of georgette and styled the dresses for all her four bridesmaids and two flower girls.

Traditional Silk Saree

I love sarees and especially our traditional silk sarees. Recently got to meet the mother of a groom who wanted her blouse designed by me. I fell in love with the saree. Seeing her personality I felt adding a little colour would do great justice.  So I added a bright orange back border for the entire saree and orange potlis for the #silk #saree #blouse. It looks so great. The original beauty remained the same and a little colour peeped when the pallu swayed.

Lavender feels magical.....classy....beautiful dress

When the colour is subtle it pleases the eyes and the soul. Lavender is one such colour. Made this Anarkali Gown after dyeing the georgette fabric for the dress, net for the dupatta and lycra for the chudidar pant. Added a little of pink thread embroidery on the dupatta to give it a little brightness. The dupatta and the dress yoke has diamonds sprinkled over it. I started my new year with this dress being worn by a dear client in Fiji.

Bridesmaids

What are weddings without bridesmaids. Boring, taxing and routine. Wedding is a special moment not an everyday affair. And having your close friends and relatives as your bridesmaids is always a great thing. The bride has someone to calm her down, to take care of her, to make her veil tidy and to keep reminding she looks great. Even the wedding pictures look so pretty with them in it. Recently designed gowns for three bridesmaids for a Mumbai catholic wedding. The theme was Maroonish red, blush Pink and Fuschia pink. I dyed the georgette and lace fabrics to match the desired shades. It is no fun to just make a yoke of the ready lace fabric. So I cut the motifs and placed it on a plain net yoke to give a different pattern for all the three bridesmaids. #Kp #KimPereira #Customised #bridesgown #bridesmaiddresses #flowergirl #dress

An unplanned Journey of a cherished Saree to a Beautiful Dress

I believe the best things happen when left unplanned. You do have to put a little effort to make it happen minus your fears of 'what ifs'. Designing garments just happened to me. I did not plan it, only followed life's plan and put my best into it. In 2007 I started my label ' KIM PEREIRA' wherein I designed beautiful ready-to-wear handwork embroidered wedding sarees. Mumbai gave me an opportunity to showcase these in various art galleries through which I made clients worldwide. For six years I only sold sarees. And let me tell you 'sarees' was something I had no clue about when I was learning fashion designing in Goa. I was trained in western wear. Six years later I thought of meeting my old Mumbai clients and revamping their wardrobes. I am best at getting wonderful things done out of discarded things. Many of us have our cupboards full of clothes and sarees that we know we will not wear but still keep them as souven irs.  So I started diggin

New Year lets start again

After my last post of 31st Oct I met with a terrible accident and did not have my writing pad around. So much to share reference all that I did last year . Since I started and ended 2017 doing white wedding gowns, I think I will start with my most recent wedding gown picture. A #Kp #KimPereira #WeddingGown is all about my style. I love doing handmade flowers that can be used for the dress and veil embroidery. Exclusive handwork for my brides to look different from all the other brides. Completely customised.
