Loading ..........2020

It feels like we have been taken on some trip where we get to see all that we have done and not done.
All that we should have done and all that we shouldn't have done.

2020 feels like a house of mirrors. No matter which side you turn, you see a reflection of you staring right back at you. And you can hear your Soul screaming 'CHANGE!'.

Yes, change. It is one thing that is constant, inevitable and yet so difficult to accept. It is always for our betterment. Yet the fear of pain, of loss, or perhaps of being left out that makes us hold on to our old self.

Being accepted by our family, our friend circle, our partner, our children, and our society holds more importance than we accepting our true self and standing by our decisions.

Whom are we trying to fool here? God knows best.

Right now the world economy is down. People are dying not only because they are covid positive, but because they are lonely, cheated, deprived, CAGED. A human mind that was once free to do anything and watch caged animals is today caged in his house in his thoughts while the animals are free.

The Planet was created for us and for them. It is we who forgot to co-exist. We forgot we need them - the animals, the trees, the oceans, clean air, clean water, rich soil to survive.

I hope we wake up from this bad dream. I pray we accept our mistakes and be willing to change and learn to co-exist. And forgive.....

AGREE?

Rochelle Maria Rao - Femina Miss India International

Heartiest Congratulations to the beautiful Rochelle Maria Rao on winning the Miss India International title at the Pantaloons Femina Miss India 2012. All the very best and God Bless You. I met her for the Goa Navy Queen Pageant in Dec'11 as she was the emcee for the show; and she carried my saree so gracefully. She is a beautiful person and I wish her all the luck.

My New Love For Scarves and Rust Dyeing

Keeping this one for me. A pure satin soft flowy rust dyed scarf. I want to experiment, improve, and innovate. May be work around the theme 'From Rags To Riches' or maybe 'Broken Is B eautiful'. A little delay or wrong judgement of time can damage the fabric. But when did I care about being perfect. There is a lot of scope in imperfections. You can create and beautify the torn piece and make it a piece of art. And art need not be perfect rather it should just please your soul and make your heart ♥  happy.  Right? You can view my collection on Etsy.com. A SAREE drape BUT using NO SAREE

Saree Pleats Styling PART 1 The Saree is very dear to me. Hence I keep coming up with different drape styles so I can motivate/encourage more people to love and wear them. Yes, my styles sometimes may mean crossing the line and even cutting the Saree. But, the main aim is always to draw attention to the Saree. This time I am focusing on the saree pleats. Many of us shy away from wearing a saree because we cannot make those perfect pleats or can't handle them. However, did you know that if you learn to pleat the fabric you could drape the fabric in so many ways? They don't need to be 1000% perfect ;) The link in this post will take you to the DIY video/reel that will quickly show you how I used two different fabrics to create a fusion dress. Using pins is a must to secure the fabric. I separated the mulmul foil printed pallu from a saree and pleated it to make the lower drape. One one leg it looks like a dhoti while on the other it looks like ...
